Professor H. R. Varia has joined AIIE as a Professor of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering from 1st June, 2018. He has several years of academic experience in various engineering colleges of Gujarat. He is a keen academician and researcher with motivational activities and education standards during the career span.
He has proficiency in handling and guiding the research projects of students at UG, PG and PhD level. He has guided more than 25 M. E. dissertations and 4 Ph. D. thesis. He has experience and skills in developing curriculum to accommodate different learning styles, conducted various workshops, trainings, seminars and delivered expert lectures. He has published more than 65 technical papers at International and National level.
Highway, Railway, Airport, Dock and Harbour Engineering, Urban Transportation Systems Planning, Traffic Engineering, Pavement Design, Construction and Evaluation, Surveying, Building Construction, Town Planning.
- Ph. D. from IIT Bombay in 2005.
- M. Tech. Civil (Transportation Systems Engineering) from IIT Bombay in 1995.
- B. E. Civil from L. E. College, Morbi, Saurashtra University in 1983.
Prof. H. R. Varia has worked as an Assistant Engineer in R & B Department of Gujarat for 6 years at Godhra. Then he has joined Government Engineering College, Modasa as a Lecturer in Civil Engineering and worked for 10 years. He is promoted as an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering and worked at L. D. College of Engineering for 6 years. Then after he is transferred at GEC Modasa and worked for 4 years. He has worked as an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at GEC Bhuj for 5 years. During his stay at GEC Bhuj, he has worked as an In-charge Principal for 2.5 years. Then he has joined Tatva Institute of Technological Studies, Modasa as a Principal and worked for 4 years and 4 months.
Prof. Varia has guided more than 25 M. E. dissertations and 4 Ph. D. thesis. He is approved research supervisor at GTU, R. K. University-Rajkot and at Kadi Sarva Vishvavidyalay, Gandhinagar. He has guided 2 Student Sci-Tech projects under GUJCOST. He has worked to organise various workshops, seminars, conferences, short term training programmes at national and international level. He has also published/presented more than 65 technical papers at national and international journals/conferences. He is also awarded for his publication in ELSEVIER as a Highly Cited Research in December, 2016. He has delivered many expert lectures at different conferences, STTP, workshops and seminars. At present he is supervising 5 Ph. D. research scholars. His main research area is Transportation Engineering.
